- Annual work plan and budget completed for country implementation
- National assessment for lymphatic filariasis and trachoma completed
- Mapping in 8 districts and baseline in 2 districts completed for STHs and schistosomiasis
- Participation in De-worming campaign for children under five
- Strategic plan for integrated NTD control in Rwanda completed
- Mass Drug Administration in Musanze and Burera districts took place on the 24-25 of April
- 286,217 were treated with ALB and 96,053 with PZQ
- KAP (Knowledge Attitude and Practice) survey in Muzanze and Burera districts completed

| Distribution of NTDs in Rwanda: - WHO estimates 4 million Rwandans are at risk and over 400,000 are infected with schistosomiasis alone
- Prevalence of Intestinal worms in children are estimated to exceed 75% country-wide
- In 2000, STHs were the second most common cause for health clinic visits
- STHs are the third leading cause of morbidity in Rwanda
- In some areas, prevalence is estimated to be 100% among school-aged children
